Career Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG)

Train’d up provides career education, information, advice and guidance, through supporting learners in the developing of the skills, knowledge and attitudes needed to have a positive career.

CEIAG is an integral part of Train’d Up’s commitment to prepare learners for the opportunities available to them, on completing their training.

Calibrated against the Career Development Institute (CDI) Framework, which integrates the Gatsby Benchmarks that are the fundamentals for what good careers education, information, advice and guidance should look like; progress is regularly reviewed against the CDI Frameworks six learning areas:

  • Growing throughout life
  • Exploring possibilities
  • Managing a career
  • Creating opportunities
  • Balancing life & work
  • Seeing the big picture

At Train’d Up we offer:

  • One-to-one advice and guidance on a range of learning, work and training options
  • A range of classroom workshops that support you to develop the skills that potential employers desire; teamwork, communication and problem solving
  • Support with searching and applying for jobs; help preparing you for interviews
  • Information, guidance and support with progression
  • Advice and guidance on making decisions that will enable you to succeed in getting a great job

Our careers advisor Abigail Carter leads on careers and can offer guidance and support. Abigail is a level 6 registered member of the Career Development Institute and has an up-to-date knowledge of the national careers picture. Abigail can be contacted by email at abigail.carter@traindup.org.

Labour Market Information

Labour market information can support you with decision-making.

Maybe you want to research jobs or career or move to a new location. For example, if you are a skilled production-line worker and you move to a town with few factories, you may have difficulty in finding a job.
