The Rail Engineering Operative Level 2 apprenticeship is designed for those who want to build a career in railway operations and railway engineering and takes approximately 13 months to reach the End Point Assessment (EPA) gateway. This programme equips apprentices with essential track maintenance and safety skills through a combination of hands-on experience and live, tutor-led online training.

Apprentices gain expertise in track installation, inspection, fault repair, and maintenance, ensuring they can support rail technicians and engineers effectively.

Qualifications Included:

  • Level 2 Functional Skills – Maths and English (unless exempt) 
  • Level 3 Rail Engineering (Competence)

Funding:

£24,000 per apprentice with no additional fees 

Typical Duration to EPA Gateway:

30 months
